PERFORMANCE TOURS:

A winner of the William Cruiser Choreographers Competition in Hollywood California; where she performed her modern dance piece “Hard Times.”  In addition, Felicia performed in the Choreographer Concert in Santa Monica, California with William Joe Jenkins where she danced “Iago,” a Traditional Afro-Cuban Dance.  While studying and completing the Dance Department at CSULB in 1988, she was the only student choreographer that was selected to perform in the Faculty Concert. As a Choreographer, Ms. Spears has choreographed for Recording Italian Artist Vanna Marr in Athens Greece where she performed in Mikannos’ Greek Islands and Thessaloniki Greece performance and radio show.

 In addition, she toured with Black Ballet Jazz Company and danced professionally in the Athens Festival Olympics 1984 in Athens Greece. Felicia performed live stage performances world wide, including performances in Greece, Italy, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Hong Kong, and throughout the United States of America.

 Other touring companies in Theatres, Open Air Stages, Universities, Colleges, and Schools were performed with: R’ Wanda Lewis Dance Company, Lula Washington Dance Company, and many more professional dance companies in California.. In addition to founding the Grass Roots Dance Theatre Inc. who she has been serving the community since 1986; Ms. Spears has been instrumental in developing creative programs for Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation’s Summer Day Camp for over thirty years.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

The Grass Roots Dance Theatre Summer Arts Ranch where Ms. Spears hosted dance workshops throughout the summer. Ms. Spears has directed and implemented many youth programs at St. Elmo’s Village, The Boys and Girls Club, Sheen Way Cultural School, Watts Towers, various Housing Projects, “ Arts as a Means of Healing,” And Arts Advocacy for at risk youths;  which was sponsored in part, by the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs, California Community Foundation, AT&T, J Paul Getty, Los Angeles Arts Council, and many more.

 OTHER TEACHING EXPERIENCES:

 Ms. Spears had the opportunity to share her teaching skills and creative artistic works with the Riverside Arts Counsel in 2001-2007 each year in the weekly Arts After School Programs entitled: Arts In Minds, and Prime Time for Riverside Unified School District, and Val Verde Unified School District; where the Arts Counsel invites Professional Artists in the Community to share their talents with children and youths.

Ms. Spears, taught courses such as: Performance, Choreography, and Dance Techniques. These Classes consisted of: Hip Hop, Tap, West African, Jazz, modern movements including and basic movement techniques. In addition she also added to her curriculum's Arts and Crafts, Jewelry Making, and Dance History.

1995-1997: Family Service of Riverside at Mead Valley Community Center in Perris, California.
